(Most of the undead are reanimated casualties from the war. Intuition would tell your characters that they would be heading from the most recent battle: the city itself.)

You are walking toward the courthouse, and you hear the zombies before you see them. Eventually you see a small group of zombies shambling in a tight group toward the camp you just came from. Neither of you are quite sure how many of them are there, it's hard to tell in the late evening's dim light.

It's either 6 or 7. You try to count multiple times, but they keep moving around too quickly to be able to tell for certain.
